Will Claybrooks came to the Watts Entrepreneur Business Accelerator (WEBA) with a determination to succeed. He is the creator of healthier, mouthwatering desserts called Freaky Fruit Pizza.

Will describes his unique food as a dessert pizza with a sugar cookie base, hand-selected organic fruit, coated in an agave glaze and topped with hand-whipped lemon or lime cream– and all with no artificial flavors or sugars. He got the idea to start making these delicious desserts two years ago when he moved to California from Detroit. Upon his arrival in Los Angeles, he began looking for opportunities to increase his income. After brainstorming with his older sister, the dessert pizza was born.

Will Claybrooks of Freaky Fruit PizzaTo make this idea into a reality, Will needed to get the proper permits and licensing, find a kitchen, create a website, and get to chopping, whipping, and baking. Through workshops and consultations, the WEBA has assisted Will with understanding restaurant financials, website development, marketing, and strategic linkages. Currently, with the help of the knowledgeable staff at WEBA, Will is preparing for street vending opportunities in Los Angeles, obtaining financing, and acquiring an ice cream cart.

VEDC and WEBA are proud to announce that in September 2018, Will and Freaky Fruit Pizza opened a pop-up storefront located at 8301 S. Western Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90047. Visitors can stop by Wednesday through Sunday between 12pm – 8pm and get a slice or full pie of his Freaky Fruit Pizza and his delicious organic fruit cups.
